The sole purpose of these reviews is for prospective buyers to decide where they want to spend their hard earned buck to play some golf. The star system rating is by no means perfect. However, many golfers rely on it to get a basic idea of a courses overallcondition, friendliness, course layout etc. A realistic rating is difficult to achieve when multiple high ratings are done on the same day by one person.
Played this course many times and I give the course 4/5 stars. The big negative with this course is the staff and lack of amenities. They just hosted the 2013 2A girls state championship and did a poor job. The course was in average shape, the staff was rude to the girls, the course would not even donate range balls to the kids and charged them full price. Every other host course donates range balls. They also gouged the kids and parents on food charges as well. This course has delusions of grandeur and thinks they have hit the big time when they are a decent course with excessive prices and a poor staff.
I've been playing golf in the South sound for the last dozen years or so, and man, I wish someone would have told me about The Classic! It is truly the hidden gem of the area! Paid somewhere in the $30 range for a weekend rate. Course was in fantastic shape compared to every other course in the area in Mid October. Greens were running at least 9 and smooth as can be. No standing water to be seen. The staff was courteous, food and beverage simple and reasonably priced. The course doesn't have all the extra plush club house ammenities and what not, but who needs that? I had a fantastic round of golf, on a challenging course, at a reasonable price, and at a great pace. I know why Ryan Moore plays here when he's home. Great establishment! I know where i'll be spending my hard earned money from here on out, can't beat it!
owned by the Ryan Moore family of the PGA tour, this track is a good challenge with tree lined fairways and just enough variety to keep you interested. The green suffered through some fungus issues last spring and rolled slow all summer. No real restaurant, more of a snack bar and the pro shop is simple. Nice practice area with both covered and uncovered spots. The price is fair and if you look around can find some good deals. overall, one of the hidden gems of the area.
This course is always in excellent shape. Plays fair and tough. I have always been treated with nothing but respect at this course, and have seen the management go above and beyond to satisfy all my golf desires. Yes they are very adamant in the cart rules in order to maintain the structure of the course. It is a beautiful track and there overall concern is to keep it that way.
