Hadn't played here in a few years, Likely will be a few more before I go back. As a municipal course goes it was nice, well maintained, nice staff. However, it was crowded. Constantly waiting for the group in front of you and feeling pushed by the group behind you does not make for a very enjoyable round. The group behind kept hitting into us, yet we were having to wait on most shots to avoid hitting into the group ahead. and this was an early morning (6:45) Tee time on a Thursday. Would hate to see what a weekend would be! This could be a much more enjoyable course if they spaced the groups better.
I'm a public course golfer so you this review is vs. other municipal courses. It is a great course for the money, but it get's crowded on weekends. I recommend mid-day weekday if you can. In season leagues go off weekday afternoons and it can be hard to get on. The course is in good shape and fair. Probably not very challenging to a low handicap golfer but great for us higher handicap guys. Totally recommend it if your staying at the Kent/Seattle KOA and want a quick drive to a golf course. There is a decent enough driving range across the street, two practice putting greens and a practice sand trap. It's a great muni to work on your skills.
I kept wondering why rounds were so slow. Then I realized that their start times are 1/2 the time of other courses. While this does not sound like much, the average round runs 51/2 hours on week days and 6 to 7 hours on weekends!! On most courses you have a group on the tee and one on the green. Every time you play this course you have one on the tee, one in the fairway and one on the green---every hole. Not the exception it is the norm!!
