I played at this course with my wife and it was one of the most fun experiences we've ever had on a course. The course usually is operated on the honor system, utilizing pay envelopes that you drop in a slot in an old milk can. You can buy range balls using tokens for the ball machine, but you have to buy the tokens from the owners, who live on site, the greenskeeper, who's there on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, or from a hardware store in Clinton. The course is very laid-back and unpretentious. There's no real delineation between rough and fairway. The greens were fairly well maintained, but there were a few rough spots and our balls did tend to gather grass clippings in the dewy conditions. Most of the holes are pretty open, but a few are quite tight. There are a few unusual grass bunkers on some of the holes. There are tons of rhododendrons around the course, which make it quite beautiful when they bloom.
