After having read the other reviews I will say that Glen Mills lives up to the hype in most areas but not all of them. It's true the the maintainance of the course is excellent from tee to green. The greens are somewhat fast but very fair and manageable. The scenery is terrific and the layout of the course is wonderful with many unique holes. The S shaped 5th with multiple bunkers guarding the green and the 17th where you need to carry some natural rocky landscape probably were my two favorite holes. So what are the drawbacks?? Believe it or not, despite what most reviews state, this course isn't that challenging and could be longer. I'm definately not the worlds greatest golfer either. It's tight, but as one review accurately pointed out, many shots are made to look better than they really are due to the multiple hills surrounding fairways kicking poor shots onto them giving the appearance that you hit a quality shot. If you can just avoid going out of bounds and want to shoot a better score than you probably truly deserve play here. The winter rate of $50 is the most the course is worth regardless of the time of year. Don't get me wrong, it's a fun course to play for the reasons stated above, just not the best thing since sliced bread. I think the course at Deleware Park has all the same attributes and more because it is more challenging. Glen Mills, however, is worth a play though. They do have logo balls, a plus for the collector like myself. Overall rating A-
