Merion is a grand old lady, filled with history, and a course you should have on your wish list. I wouldn't rate it in my Top 30, but I thoroughly enjoyed playing there. Like so many of the older designs, the smallish greens and high rough protect it...you have to hit it straight. Did not drive the ball well so I struggled with the high rough all day. Just have to take your penalty for missing the fairway. Love the wicker baskets, and reveling in the historic matches played there. Look forward to the upcoming US Open scheduled there to see how it stands up to the modern game.
