I've just retired and my other retired friends coaxed me out for golf all summer ( I hadn't been on a course for many years). I've now concluded four months of golf and I'm hooked! Having played a number of course's in the area, I found Allandale to be a wonderful environment to enjoy 9 holes. We quickly became know as the Friday morning foursome and from the owners to the grond crews, all were great. A special thanks to the grounds guy, they often saw me searching for my beloved ball off in the bush and would offer a free found ball to help me out. My partners are well seasoned players and enjoyed helping me learn the game and this course. We've played a number of courses but continually found Allandale to be well manicured, fairways and greens were wonderful. I do look forward to having the Pro, John, teach me in the Spring so I can really take on this course and break a 100. In the meantime, we all find this a great public course that had the feel of a private course without the cost. Enjoy Allandale, the scenery and the challenges is has to offer!
I read that this was a Stanley Thompson course so we went to check it out. The course looked okay from a distance but once we experienced it - I'll never go back. Never in my life have I had worse service from a Tee Shop. Rude, Belligerent and ignorant in their treatment as I went to rent clubs....this from the owner who berated me for renting clubs. The course is a pasture with limited test of playing ability, over priced and over hyped. If I were you I wouldn't waste your time or money playing Allandale. Over all one of the worst golf experiences of my life. There are about 20 courses in the area that would be better quality, experience.
