This course has so much history and the layout is so fun. Shame on the city and shame on whoever operates this course. Greens were hilariously terrible. Grass was growing down into the cups because they have not moved them in who knows how long. The pro shop is abandoned with nothing in it. golf cart was in its last leg. Building looks in very much disarray. What a great historical place. Again, shame on the city and shame on the operators.
have been playing this course since I was in high school in the early 70s. My biggest complaints with it, and I just played it yesterday, continue to be the following issues: tee box areas are in very poor condition and poorly marked, especially trying to find the women's boxes due to the tiny and poorly maintained tee box markers, needed directional signage indicating the path between holes 8 & 9, 12 & 13, & 10 & 11. Finally, the bunkers need to have more playable sand. Due to the historical significance of this course, it deserves much better maintenance and TLC.
A great short course with a challenge. Even though many holes aren't long they have their difficulties with tree's, bunkers and water shots. Accuracy is the key to shooting good here. You can be a scratch golfer and shoot bogey golf, or you can be a bogey golfer who gets lucky and shoots par. Fun course to play overall.
