Awesome 100 year old course with plenty of personality. Great shape from tee to green and lunch in the grill room following the round was fantastic. Really enjoy this golf course!

Played 6/27/10 which was a brutally hot, humid day. After doing some research on courses in the northern Finger Lakes region i settled on Seneca Falls C.C. After playing Seneca Falls i'm confident that i made the right choice. I played with a member which made for a fun round. He provided some insight in to playing the course and provided some history.

The conditions from tee to green are very good. Since Seneca Falls is still semi private most ball marks are fixed and there's not divots all over the place. You can tell the people that play here take pride in the course.

The layout is solid. The holes flow well and there's a lot of scoring opportunities out there if you're striking the ball well and can make some putts. Since it's an older course, Seneca Falls plays fairly short at 6500 from the tips. With that said, it's still a course that a 0-5 handicapper would enjoy playing because it's a quality layout. The back 9 has a little bit more personality since it's set back in to the woods imo. Number 11 is a quirky hole and #17 is a beast of a par 4. My favorite holes on the front were #5, #7 and #9.

If i could say one thing negative about Seneca Falls it would be the lack of views of Cayuga Lake. Except for the 9th green and 10th tee you would never know you're a stone throws away from the lake. I went in thinking there would be great views of the surrounding area and that's simply not the case.

Overall, this is a course that i'm glad i played. Seneca Falls might not be truly great in any one thing but the overall experience is very good. From the pro shop, to the grill and the locker room you can tell you're at a place that takes pride in who they are. If you're in the area and want to play a well kept course with some history and personality definitely give Seneca Falls a round.
