Got a great deal on this course through Groupon but felt it would have been worth paying full price. Although the greens didn't hold as well as I would have liked, they were all in excellent shape, as was the rest of the course. The women's tee boxes are some of the best around and provided a fair advantage. Beautiful layout, traps well placed and maintained. Excellent value.
This is a fantastic golf course! New management took over in 2011 and they do a great job. Each hole is unique and challenging, the course is always in great shape and the price is right! This is a must play for any golfer in the Rochester area! They have hosted many prestigious events and have added a US Ameteur Qualifier this year. This is a better layout and cheaper price than any other course in the area. Dont miss out on this one!!
Outside of the course being in terrible shape, my main complaint comes from the man claiming to be the owner. While I will not give any names, my introduction to the owner was in overhearing a conversation he was having with the pro-shop attendent. Now by "overhearing" I simply mean that I was within earshot of a man screaming at the top of his lungs at his employees and at the general public. Cursing and dropping "F-bombs" left and right, this man belittled his staff and the patrons of the course. Why? Well apparently the people playing the golf course were not replacing divots. I recommend that you stay away from this course not only for the lack of playability and poor quality of the greens, but because this owner has no respect for his employees or patrons. If you are interested in playing a good golf course with excellent service, try Blue Heron Hills or Greystone - both are within a 10 minute drive from Brookwoods.
