Warrenton Golf Club opened in 1925. It has a year round 9 hole golf facility and a great pool open from Memorial Day through Labor Day, for cooling off after a Summer game of Golf or for the whole family.
The course is unique in that it's terrain is varied, fairways are narrow, greens are some of the smallest you are likely to encounter and the slope on some are severe. The greens are kept in great condition and their speed is usually read above 10. Golfers need to be on target to navigate the fairways' twists and turns created by natural obstacles such as ponds, trees or simply the ball lies. Although it is 9 holes and not extremely long, the operators have set up the tee boxes to give a front and back 9 with enough change to feel like it's an 18 hole course. It is bordered by state game lands with few houses to interfere with the scenery. The clubhouse provides members with dining facilities and a Pro-shop (recently remodeled) but still retains an older course atmosphere. They have snacks, drinks, Hotdogs and very good Burgers for the hungry, and the Pro-shop workers are always pleasant. This course is real TARGET golf and if you want to get around these corners and hit these greens you better have a good approach shot in your bag. It's a sure thing you'll have fun.
