Let me start by first saying I have lived on this course for 15 years, watched the Smith family let this little gem go down hill and basically turning it into a hay field. New owners took over, they too struggled their first year. But this year, the lady (megan I believe) has really brought the course around. I sit on my deck having coffee at 6:00 AM and she's out there mowing, that girl is going non stop to make our course great again. She's on four or five different pieces of equipment everyday, seven days a week, from sun up to sun down. There greens are looking great this year lots of TLC have gone into them. The whole staff is very friendly and helpful!! This course will be great again, it truly is in the best it has been in 10 years! Way to go! Good hometown family, working man's course, with a great value!
For those who want to compare this course to Shanty, Don't! The other reviews are from those who obviously don't play much and just want a cheap course. If that's all you want The Farm is great. But it's nothing like a resort course, let alone a Shanty Creek course. It's not even on the same level as the low grade summit course at Shanty. The farm reminds me of a lot of easy courses in Southern Michigan that are short and inexpensive, though the greens are a bit better. It is a good value for the price, but you don't get much more.
