Ive been to this course once before, I come from out of town and have family in Topeka. I recently went on July 5th, 2013 and things looked really nice on the course, the carts are nice and front desk, very polite. IT was a holiday weekend and yes, it was over crowded, we had a group of seniors let us play through and then they drove on us, right to the back of our heels..Terrible golf etiquette, we were not taking anymore time than was allowed. We didn't say a thing and jumped a few holes to let avoid being driven on again. We continued and finished up what we could play and then went back to finish the course at round 11 am...There were five people deep on each hole and we finally found a hole we could get on after waiting for a threesome. The next two after us were still on the other fairway, so we decided to get on and off and not hold things up. Well, the gentleman and his dad finished quickly and pulled up to as and asked what were we doing jumping in front of them. He then said that we should have never jumped ahead early in our day and and waited and we were the reason for the back log..OMG..He didn't even ask if they could play through, he just confronted us and begin his attitude. We politely said feel free to go ahead and he didn't say a word and took off. I was so shocked by this, it ruined the rest of my day, it was nice to see him slice his next ball in the other fairway and he actually went over and played it when he should have picked it up. I guess he has his own set of rules, this tall rather thin man dressed in the light blue shirt in his late forties or fifties, Iam sure was an embarrassment to his dad. Iam guessing he is a regular and probably thinks he owns the course. He was saying that they had a flow going and they didn't want us to ruin that. Its funny how karma catches up with you, he had to wait all day long to further his game that what I saw, really sucked. LOL This caused me to totally hate the rest of my day, first we get drove on by the seniors and then this jerk acts like that. I hope I run into him someday again, it just takes the fun out of playing the game. I actually played all around Kansas that week and this was the worse experience all week. I played earlier in the summer at some elite golf courses in Michigan and loved every minute of it. So, if you are ever at Forbes, be prepared for very impatient people on the course that think they own it. My brother goes out there frequently and he even was shocked. Always jerks on the golf course, we just happen to run into inconsiderate seniors and a CEO type SOB in one day. Forbes this has to be one of your tallest members(white)in race, tall rather thin that was with probably his father,(whom didn't say a thing).. It was July 5th between 9:30 and 11:30am. I hope someone reads this and passes it on to the Forbes folks, we actually finished in great time for waiting 5-10 min each hold...that tells you we were moving right along. We are not beginners, not pros, but just family trying to have fun. I have more relation in the Topeka area that I will now not recommend this course at all, that involves around 15 people whom live in Topeka, family and friends that I will contact about this incident. Lets see, take 15 people and 15 green fees and cart fees...hmmmm adds up a little huh??? The course was very nice, but not nice enough to put up with the abuse we put up with and kept our mouths shut about. It would not have done any good to talk to front desk people, they all stick by their regulars.
