French Lick Resort

First off, it's outrageously expensive but luckily for me, it was a gift from my dad. The place was absolutely breathtaking. This course was very difficult for me. I played the Donald Ross the day before and shot a 78...it took me 93 strokes for me to get through this beast from the black tees (7,200 yards, I think). Fairways were extremely undulated, very narrow, very firm and shaved tight. I had some crazy long drives because of the fairway conditions but also a lot of good drives ended up in the rough...which by the way was not benign. This club grabbing, wrist breaking rough was not as short as I've heard it's usually kept, making it very difficult to hold a ball on the rock hard greens...if your able to muscle it there. The greens were like I said were very firm, so don't expect your shot to check up but they were somewhat slower than I expected. Staff was super friendly. Even though shot some elevated numbers, I had a blast. Course was awesome...I hope I get to go back some day.
