Played the front 7 holes in 2-1/2 hours...lost a dozen balls in play because the grass had not been mowed in weeks. We also got lost because they do not even give you a scorecard with a map. They provided me a photocopy of their old scorecard scoring side only and there was no tee box on hole 4 so we ended up playing hole #11 by mistake. The bunkers are full of rocks and weeds and there were piles of dirt and rocks directly behind one green. We finally gave up when we found the road back to the clubhouse and when I got back there the girl at the trailer/clubhouse who said she worked until 7pm was gone. The guy who said this is a good place for a beginner to practice is dead wrong. This course is so bad you will want to give up the game...myt girlfriend and I called it JUNGLE GOLF it is so bad. This course is a bit under looked. It has one of he best in he county hidden course allowing for a relaxing experience. With a great over view of wild life you really get to enjoy nature. From season to season they are always open and ready for customers offering just a basics of golf. I signed up early for my normal season pass which was discounted. Note the lowest price in the area. Open tee times daily with a staff that make you come back. Despite what I read here, I enjoy Lakemoor Golf Course and will continue to play here for that reason...
This is not worth your time or money. Over-priced, horribly maintained! Staff is nice enough but there are so many better options in the county.
This has to be the worst course in Lake/McHenry county! I gave 5 stars for difficulty only because the ground was so hard every time you hit the green or fall just short your ball rolls all the way across and off the green. I can not believe I paid 30 dollars for this course. Save your self some money and play a real nice course like Fox Lake Country Club for 28 dollars which includes a cart with gps. This could be a half way decent course if they just maintained the property better. What a disaster.
