Do not recommend! The only reason this course is in business is they are the only course in the lower keys. Went Golfing with the family, sister-in-law is a Keys resident. 4 of us had late afternoon tee time. After the 9th hole we stopped by the pro shop and my sister-in-law got locked in the bathroom. An employee opened the door shut off the lights and locked it up (it was a 2 way keyed deadbolt). Sis was calling out while this was going on and no response from employee. We were not the only players on the course, the rental shop still had 1 kid working, and the restaurant door was unlocked. She was locked in for 30-40min. At first we couldn’t find the kid working the rental. When we did, we found out no one had a key. He called management, no answer on several calls. Overall the situation was not met with the urgency it deserved. After she was let out we continued to play, but the kid running the rental met us out on the course and asked us to cut the game short. We did, he wanted to go home and it was getting dark by this point… we left contact info, messages on phone, spoke to employees, Sis even went down to the club the next day to speak to management, they were not their and she left contact info again. 2 days later no response, no phone call, no apology, nothing. Management staff of this course is completely incompetent, and the staff is poorly trained to handle situations. And I would presume some fire code was/is being broken or the policy of locking a bathroom while customers and employees are still on site breaks a law. If you are in Key West go do something else, anything else, don’t play golf here. Go to the mainland, Florida has much better courses than this one anyway.
The Iguanas were great company and the course was beautiful. Brought my own clubs to save the $50 buck rental. Used a carry on and shoved the rest into the golf bag staying under the 50lbs. The Driving range is just a large net about 30' high and maybe 50yds long. The chipping green is not very useful. Putting greens are short and flat. If you are in the military, buy T Times at MWR. Renegade golfers on almost every hole. Annoying to wait for people to hit who cut in front of you most likely without paying. Very friendly and helpful staff. Can't wait to play again!
