We played the Deltona Club on a deal purchased through LivingSocial.com which included 2 rounds with cart, range balls, lunch and drinks. Customer service was great and the course was in excellent condition. Unlike most flat swampy Florida courses, The Deltona Club offers rolling hills and elevations, sprawling bunkers called waster areas and large undulating greens to add a real challenge to putting. We had a terrific time and will return again. Pics are posted on my FACEBOOK page here: http://www.facebook.com/#!/media/set/?set=a.10151029974606426.425561.692206425&type=3
It was in poor shape when we played this summer, a ton of sand bunkers on every hole i seemed.
I hated this course and I am somewhat forgiving. The bunkers (of which there are many) are a complete mess. Huge amounts of dense weeds growning in and all around them make for very bad conditions. I actually lost 3 balls during my round and all were lost in bunkers! How does that happen? Way too many weeds and mess that's how. Also, two holes are directly next to the driving range, so those two were littered with range balls. I spent 5 minutes searching through them to find my ball on one hole. I will never, never, never go back.
This my favorite course to play in Central Florida. I have played here about 8 times in the last six months. I tell all my friends it is resort quality at a public course price. Overseeding would help in the winter. It got pretty brown for a a while on the fairways and tee boxes, but the greens were always in great shape. Highly Recommend to anyone looking for a challenging course at a fair price.
I've played here ten times during the last two months. Best value with-in 20 miles. The Course has come a long way since the bad weather of last winter. The greens have been over-seeded and rolling smooth and true. I would play here every day if I could.
Played 3/27/10. Great layout! Real challenging! Lots of big hills, elevated tees and greens and LOTS of sand! We paid $45 which might have been $5-$10 too much. The course definitely needs some more maintenance. It still plays good but needs work to rationalize those fees. Greens were still a little brown from all the frost we had this winter, but they were starting to come back. The same with the fairways, hard packed bermuda grass. Obviously they couldn't afford to overseed. Putting was pretty true still. I look forward to coming back in the summer after all the grass has come back, and the peak season rates go to summer rates. This course has potential to be a real gem if the can afford to maintain it in the future. The amenities were so-so. The clubhouse is a "manufactured housing" style building which I can assume is temporary with a small food counter and a few tables setup for a dining area. Pro shop is stocked pretty good with the stuff you need to buy at the last minute. Staff was great! Overall a 6.5 out of a 10.
This course is great, and my favorite, I play there once a week and its amazing. $22 after 2pm for unlimited holes is a great deal way better than Southridge which is $20 for unlimited, only because Deltona has such a bigger and better course. The best part is if you're 16 years old, with or without a license you are able to get a cart. The staff is also very friendly with an awesome proshop.
