Like the other comments here, this is a great course to develop skills, essentially all skills. The fairways are like large 18 hole courses because this was an 18 hole course at one time. It's got great, long par 4's and a few long and challenging par 5's. It's my favorite course and the staff is very friendly always. High school teams practice there but it doesn't actually get in the way. Great pitching /chipping area. Also a rare practice sand trap!! Beautiful residential area near the mountains in the evening is beautiful. Great low prices too!! Problem is the greens are sub standard grass. Too bad they don't care about that at Eaton or Altadena, apparently same ownership. But with such great prices, and other great features, it's easy to overlook!!
