It is a fair course in this area for the price. The scenery makes up for anything it may lack in difficulty. The state park surroundings are beautiful, and the wildlife is abundant. Don't be surprised if you have to hit around deer. It is a very wide course; easy to score well here if erratic of the tee.
Pleasantly surprised with the condition of the course today. They fairways are really coming along and most are wide. Many holes feature elevated greens. The view is always a treat. If the weather is right, it is quite likely that you will see deer or turkey during your round as they have become abundant in the park. The only hole featuring water is a pretty par 3 and many holes have green-side bunkers. The clubhouse, carts and frankly the greens are in pretty sad shape, however. It would be nice to see some upgrades made in these areas. It's tough to get a true roll on the greens as they are pretty bumpy. Too it is unlikely that if you are playing on a weekday that the grill will be open, so if you want more than chips at the turn you may want to bring something. All in all though, I'd still recommend the course. It's usually a nice, laid-back getaway for locals.
